The creative part of my work is obvious – exploring new ideas, drawing sketches, playing with colour combinations, experimenting with materials and textures etc. Being open-minded during the knitting process is, however, not less essential to me.
Much of my inspiration is drawn from nature – its colours, textures, intricate shapes and patterns etc. However, I also take inspiration from man-made “stuff” – craft and design mean a great deal to me. All kinds of impressions are stored in my mind and later transformed into new designs - the fascinating rough surface of a ceramic pot or the sensuous experience of being wrapped in a beautiful piece of fabric … |
